Bot hosting
Upload your bot
Your bot's files live in the Files tab. Put your code there, tell us which file starts it, and press Start.
What to upload #
The same files you would run on your own computer. Two of them matter to us:
- The start file.
index.jsfor Node.js ormain.pyfor Python, in the top folder. If yours is called something else, change the name under Startup on the Manage tab. - The package list.
package.json(Node.js) orrequirements.txt(Python), in the top folder. Every time the bot starts, what it names is installed first. Do not uploadnode_modulesor a virtual environment: they are large, often built for a different system, and are made for you on each start.
Leave your token out of the files. It goes in the Variables tab.
Upload a zip #
The quickest way to put a whole bot in place:
- On your computer, zip the bot's folder.
- In the Files tab, press Upload (or drop the zip on the file list).
- Press the zip in the list and choose Unpack. Its files are unpacked into the folder you are in, replacing any with the same names.
If the zip holds one folder with the bot inside it, which is how most zip programs make them, the contents of that folder are put in the top folder for you. The bot is always started from its top folder.
Upload files one at a time #
Press Upload and pick files, or drop them on the list. You can make folders, rename, move, delete and download from the same tab.
Edit in the browser #
Press a text file to open it in the editor. Files up to 1 MB can be edited in place; larger ones can be downloaded and uploaded again.
Limits #
| One upload | Up to 50 MB |
| Uploads at once | Two per account |
| Editor | Text files up to 1 MB |
| Total storage | Your plan's figure |
Tip
Make a backup before replacing files you might want back.
