Bot hosting
Bot hosting overview
Your Discord bot runs around the clock on our servers, and you look after it from its page in the Portal: the files, the console, its token, backups and schedules are all there. There is nothing else to sign in to.
What you get #
| One bot | Each plan runs one bot |
| Language | Node.js 24 or Python 3.13, chosen when you order |
| Memory | Your plan's figure. A bot that goes over it is stopped and started again |
| Storage | Your plan's figure, for the bot's files. Backups do not count against it |
| Processor | In step with your plan's memory: more memory, more processor. The cores are shared with other bots on the same server |
| Backups | As many as your plan says. Some plans have none |
| Schedules | Up to ten per bot: a restart or a backup at a time of day |
Your bot's page in the Portal has these tabs: Overview, Console, Files, Variables, Backups, Schedules, Manage, Billing and Activity.
Getting started #
- Order a bot plan and pick its language.
- We set it up and email you when it is ready. Its page then opens in the Portal under Services.
- A new bot is stopped, with an empty folder. Upload your bot.
- Put your Discord token in the Variables tab.
- Press Start and watch the Console.
What a bot cannot do #
The bot runs in a box of its own, so that one customer's bot can never reach another's. A few things follow from that:
- Nothing can connect to your bot from the internet. It has no address of its own and no open ports, so it cannot serve a website, a dashboard or an HTTP interactions endpoint. A bot that connects out to Discord's gateway, which is how almost every bot works, is fine.
- It cannot send email directly. The mail ports are blocked. Use an email provider's HTTP API if your bot sends mail.
- It cannot reach other bots or our servers. Only the internet.
- There is no SSH or SFTP. Files go in through the Files tab.
Changing the language #
The language is set when you order. To change it, use Reinstall on the Manage tab: it empties the bot's folder and sets it up again in the other language. Your backups are kept.
If you cancel #
Your bot keeps running until the end of the time you have paid for. It is then deleted, with its files and its backups. Take a copy of anything you want to keep before then.
